Spatia connects with the Midlands

News: June 2021

Neil Lawrence has joined Spatia to support its search for collaborative development opportunities in the East and West Midlands as well as in the South West.

Neil who is based in the Midlands region has over 30 years property experience with particular focus in the industrial and logistics sectors and will look to build on that with Spatia by working across the whole real estate market.

As well as seeking to acquire land for both commercial and residential development Neils focus will be on advising business owners on potential property development and value-added opportunities within their own estate, perhaps downsizing or acquiring new premises or simply looking to create additional longer-term income or a capital return through development on their own land.

Neil will also be supporting family offices and HNW’s who are looking to diversify their investment portfolio by partnering with a regional development expert whose knowledge of the market and established networks can help it understand its characteristics and provide access to attractive off market investment opportunities.

Examples could include funding the development of sustainable new homes in urban or rural areas, turning factory buildings into contemporary sustainable workspace or creatively repurposing period buildings for the 21st Century.

Neil commented “As well as delivering our own development pipeline with current funding partners I want Spatia be the trusted advisor for business owners considering relocation or expansion and who maybe don’t have appropriate board level expertise. I also want us to be the proven development partner for equity investors either individually or through club deals looking to invest in residential and commercial development in the UK regions”.

Spatia was launched by award-winning developer Gavin Bridge in January 2021 and focuses on creating places and spaces that build a better future for people and the planet.

Gavin said “Spatia is very much a regional specialist; I believe each development should have its own distinct identity, balanced mix of uses and be reflective of its surrounding community. By working with Neil we can bring that philosophy into the East and West Midlands as well as reinforce our work in the South west at a time that many others continue to take a vanilla or ‘cookie cutter’ approach to development”.

He added “At Spatia, we are open minded, always challenging ourselves to do better, and we care deeply about ‘doing the right thing’ and the impact we have on the places and people where we operate.”

Spatia’s mission is to transform places, communities and lives
